Straight from the Heart

Straight from the Heart

2021 was one of the toughest years of our lives.

Our hearts go out to those of our friends, colleagues, and clients who lost a loved one to Covid this year. We hope the coming year is kinder to you and your families.

For small businesses, the year started with the promise of recovery but brought in more damage and destruction than any year before it.

For Konsälidön, it started with the termination of a contract that we relied on to sustain our business and team of 25 consultants, greater financial trouble than we have ever faced before, unanswered calls to clients who owed us money, and unending follow-up calls from suppliers chasing payments, delayed salaries leading to losing 60% of a team that we had worked so hard to build and train in the years before, and tremendous pressure on our new-age concept and our belief in the power of collaboration.

On the positive side, the year has taught us some very valuable lessons, friends reached out to support us at great risk to their own sustenance, colleagues stuck with us through very difficult times, and made great sacrifices with us, we started earning revenues again, and we are a leaner team with a refreshed strategy going into the new year. And of course, we should be grateful to still be alive!

If we have already worked with each other to create some magic together over the last few years, I’d love to have a catch-up call early in the new year to see how we can continue to do amazing things together.

As a business owner, I have disappointed a lot more people last year than I have ever before and I hope they give me a second chance next year. If I have disappointed you last year (or before), or not kept my promises, let’s speak within the next few days to see how we can make amends, repair, and rebuild together.

And if we haven’t met before, we hope to meet in 2022 and explore how we can add value to each other and support each other in the times to come.

We started with a dream and a commitment to leveraging the power of together, and though I must admit I’ve been tempted to give up more than once this year, it will be a real pity if we let a bad year and some inexperience on my part destroy the trust we have created in the years before!

We wish for us to remember the lessons, favors, and sacrifices from 2021 for the rest of our careers and lives, and we aim to preserve our health, wealth, relationships, and the environment better in 2022 and beyond.

We wish you very happy holidays and a great year and decade ahead. Stay safe and keep in touch!
